Hudgell Solicitors has bought the personal injury and clinical negligence caseload of Carters Solicitors of Peterborough.   The deal follows the decision by Carters to shut the practice and is part of Hudgell Solicitors’ expansion through acquisition and organic growth.

Hudgell Solicitors, which has three offices in Hull and one in Leeds, specialises in claims for personal injury and clinical negligence, particularly brain injury and dental negligence cases.

Neil Hudgell, managing director of Hudgell Solicitors, said: “We already have a solid track record of success in personal injury and clinical negligence cases.  Buying up the caseload from Carters will contribute to us achieving our aim of growing by 100% in the next three years.”

In 2011, Hudgell Solicitors bought three other legal practices outright and there are more deals in the pipeline.  The company’s website www.acquisition.hudgellsolicitors.co.uk outlines the offer to other firms: it has immediate access to capital funds to buy personal injury practices, case loads and individual cases.

Paul Halifax is one of two partners at Carters, which was a former member of the QualitySolicitors network, and has been with the firm since it was established ten years ago.

Paul, an expert in all types of personal injury claims and costs advocacy, said: “The offer from Hudgell Solicitors allows us to access costs from claims that would otherwise be inaccessible for months to come.  Neil has done his utmost to ensure the transfer of files has been achieved as quickly and as smoothly as possible.”
